Understanding business requirements to build BI solutions

Responsibilities

Duties, responsibilities and Accountabilities (and time split)  

  • Understanding business requirements to build BI solutions 
  • Prepare project documentation including requirements, design, testing, and status reports 
  • Designing and implementing enterprise data and reporting architectures 
  • Developing and integrating with Hyperion Applications 
  • Collaborate with the rest of the BI team to come up with the best solution 
  • Setup access to reports based on security requirements 
  • Perform unit and integration testing, provide documented results 
  • Package all code for migration and deployment 
  • Follow and recommend improvements to configuration management processes based upon “best practices 
  • Recommend standardizations or improvements for enterprise data warehouse and data marts 
  • Analysing and resolving user issues relating to OBIEE in the production environment 
  • • Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution for OBIEE, working directly with end users when necessary

Skills & Qualifications

Other requirements specific to the role /Individual’s core competencies  


  • 5 years’ experience developing with Oracle OBIEE 
  • 5+ years in data warehousing, analytical reporting and dimensional modelling 
  • Strong architecture, design and development skills 
  • Experience with Database Management using SQL Server 

Demonstrated prior experience designing and developing the following in Oracle SOA environment:  


  • Data modelling 
  • Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) scripts 
  • Access management 
  • BI reports and analytics  

  • Prior experience developing technical design documents including interface control documents, data mappings, architectural and engineering diagrams, flow and relational diagrams 
  • Previous user-facing roles which developed strong relationship building skills 
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of change and release in an enterprise environment 
  • Problem identification and resolution skills 
  • Highly self-motivated and directed 
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment 
  • High attention to detail 
  • Advanced analytical and diagnostic skills
