DATA ANALYTICS ANALYST

Responsible for executing data validation, integrity, profiling, auditing, and gap analysis to ensure data quality. Research data issues, identify solution and communicate to appropriate teams. Identify, define, and implement data cleansing and data improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute statistical model management processes that include data quality, model effectiveness monitoring and model deployment. 
  • Identify, extract, clean, transform, validate and model data across multiple domains using various technologies and languages. 
  • Work with Data Analyst to transition extracts into automated process. 
  • Research, present and recommend new tools to leadership team. 
  • Utilize new and advanced methods to extract, transform and load data. 
  • Design and develop data models, structures, and views in data environments. 
  • Build requirements for, develop, and provide on-call support for deployment of automated processes that provide functional areas with data and information. 
  • Document, monitor and proactively improve processes and controls.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree with a concentration in data sciences, business information management, and/or MIS required.  
  • 7+ years technical experience in technology, business intelligence, information systems or other related field 
  • Data governance experience including data definition, issue management and data quality analysis 
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data using various technologies 
  • Ability to prioritize projects and recurring responsibilities and effectively communicate workload to leader for assistance when necessary 
  • Strong analytical, critical, and systems thinking required 
  • Ability to perform moderate business analysis and to effectively collaborate on business projects 
  • Works effectively both independently and within a team environment 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with associates and leadership in cross-functional settings using verbal, written and presentation skills  

Technical proficiency in the following:   


  • Advanced ability to interact with various database and file storage systems (DB2, Oracle and Hadoop).   
  • Fluent in data manipulation languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, Hive, Pig.  
  •  Strong knowledge of DDL and tuning techniques   
  • Statistical tools such as SAS, SPSS, R or preferred   
  • Business Intelligence such as Hyperion, OBIEE or Micro Strategies  
  • Visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlikview, Birst or Visual Analyzer  
  • Familiar with change management processes such as Service Center  
  • Knowledgeable of enterprise scheduling tools like Autosys or CA7
